The Syro code is our upgrade to legacy four-letter typing: a richer eight-function read, not the same system. The four-letter label appears in brackets for reference only, and a gender modulator (M/F) is coming soon.

Who ENTJs are
ENTJs are the one who takes the field, organising chaos into force, people into movement, plans into outcomes. Command is not something they seek so much as something that keeps being true; the work is learning what it's all FOR.
ENTJs belong to the rational temperament: minds that trust logic over consensus and treat competence as the realest currency there is. Life, for this family, is a system to be understood and improved, and their self-respect is wired to mastery rather than approval, which makes them impressively immune to peer pressure and surprisingly vulnerable to their own impossible standards. What outsiders read as coldness is usually just focus economics: attention is expensive, and they spend it where they can be excellent.
At their best: Generosity
At their best they build for others, their machinery lifts everyone inside it, and generosity becomes their legacy.
The shadow: Greed
At their worst the acquiring becomes the point: more scope, more control, more, and the people become fuel.
How their mind works
The cognitive stack, in practice
The ENTJ mind leads with Te, the drive to organize reality until it produces results: metrics, systems, decisions, done. ENTJs think in terms of what works, scale it, and honestly struggle to respect process that never ships. The engine makes them formidable and makes rest feel like a malfunction; worth, on the inside, is quietly indexed to output. The classic growth arc for ENTJs is discovering that people and feelings are not inefficiencies in the system but part of what the system was for.

How ENTJs talk and listen
In conversation, ENTJs are architects of the point: they speak to move things, compress ruthlessly, and consider a decision the natural end of an exchange. They respect directness in others and quietly lose patience with talk that circles. To be heard by a ENTJ, lead with the conclusion and the ask; to hear them properly, understand that brevity is not dismissal, it is respect for your time.
Commanding, structured, and results-oriented. Every conversation has a purpose.
Preferred Mode
Direct face-to-face. They lead conversations and set the agenda naturally.
Under Stress
ENTJs become domineering, dismissive of input, and impatient.
At Best
ENTJs inspire through confident vision-casting and decisive direction.

How ENTJs love
ENTJs date the way they think. The ENTJ mind leads with Te, the drive to organize reality until it produces results: metrics, systems, decisions, done. ENTJs think in terms of what works, scale it, and honestly struggle to respect process that never ships. In romance that engine sets both the gift and the challenge: the gift is a partner who brings something most people simply cannot, and the challenge is remembering that a partner experiences the engine's exhaust, the missed dinner, the fifth new plan, the unreadable silence, without the internal context that makes it all coherent. The ENTJ who thrives in love is the one who narrates the engine a little.
ENTJs attach through achievement and building together. They prove love through results, what they create, provide, and execute as a unit.
How They Attach
ENTJs attach through achievement and building together. They prove love through results, what they create, provide, and execute as a unit.
Attachment Anxiety
Anxiety around emotional authenticity, do I even know what I feel? Fi-inferior makes their own inner emotional world feel murky and unreliable.
What They Need
A partner who helps them access their values without judging the process. Someone who doesn't mistake their productivity for avoidance.
Growth Edge
Learning that sitting with their own feelings (without fixing them) is the deepest intimacy they can offer.
What they need in a partner
The traits a partner actually needs for it to work with an ENTJ, beyond the surface checklist.

How ENTJs work
At work, ENTJs decide with Te, the results engine: give them a goal and they will produce structure, sequence, and delivery, usually before being asked. They are natural owners of outcomes and chafe under process that exists for its own sake. Their best environments measure results rather than hours and give them real authority over their patch.
ENTJs lead with Te and support with Ni. Their decisions are shaped by this cognitive pair.
Fast Decisions
ENTJs' Te function can process quickly. They make snap decisions in their domain of strength.
Weak Spot
Decisions requiring their inferior function feel uncomfortable and take longer.
Best Practice
Pair with someone who leads with their auxiliary or inferior to cover blind spots.
CEO / Managing Director
Drives organisational outcomes through people and systems.
Chief Strategy Officer
Architects long-term competitive position through pattern recognition.
Venture Capitalist / Investor
Reads market trajectories and evaluates founders, teams, and timing.
Project Manager
Keeps complex work on track with structure, deadlines, and accountability.

The growth path
ENTJs' primary growth edge is Fi (Introverted Feeling), which means developing their capacity for knowing what they truly value, being honest with themselves about how they feel, and living in alignment with their authentic self rather than performing for others. This is the area that feels most uncomfortable but holds the greatest transformation. Growth also means maturing their Child Se and recognizing their shadow patterns.
Develop Fi, Introverted Feeling
This means growing their capacity for knowing what they truly value, being honest with themselves about how they feel, and living in alignment with their authentic self rather than performing for others. When someone is good at this, it looks like: someone with deep convictions, an unshakeable moral compass, emotional depth that's felt more than displayed, and the courage to be different if that's what feels true. The goal isn't mastery, it's making Fi conscious and accessible so it doesn't hijack they under stress.
Mature Se, Extraverted Sensing
ENTJs' Child function is about being physically present and engaged with the real world, noticing details, acting in the moment, and trusting their body. It brings creativity and spontaneity when healthy. Let it contribute without putting it in charge of important decisions.
Recognize Ti, Their Shadow
ENTJs' Nemesis is the shadow of their Hero. When they feel suddenly competitive or insecure about someone else's ability for thinking precisely for themselves, building internal frameworks, questioning assumptions, and figuring out how things really work beneath the surface, that's Ti activating. Name it to disarm it.
Soften Ne, Their Inner Judge
ENTJs' Critic targets seeing possibilities, making unexpected connections between ideas, and staying open to what could be rather than what is and turns it into self-punishment. It's trying to protect they, but the protection is disproportionate to the threat.
Under stress
The ENTJ stress spiral: what triggers it, what it looks like from outside, and the exits.
